Payouts for US hosts

If your kitchen is in the United States, you get paid in US dollars to a US bank account. Syzl partners with Stripe to send payouts securely. This article covers what's different for US hosts. For the basics that apply everywhere, see Getting paid.

Your US payout account

Payouts are set up per country. In your Wallet, the Payouts tab shows a country badge so you know which account you are looking at. Earnings from your US listings go to the bank account you connect while the badge says United States.

To switch country, tap the currency button (CAD or USD) at the top of your Wallet and choose USD — United States. The app also switches country by itself when you open a listing, based on where the kitchen is.

If you host kitchens in both Canada and the US, you connect a separate bank account for each country.

Set up payouts

  1. Go to Me > Wallet, open the Payouts tab and check that the badge says United States.

  2. Tap Connect your bank using Stripe.

  3. Follow Stripe's steps in the app. Stripe asks for details such as your legal name, date of birth and home address, plus tax details such as your Social Security number, or an EIN if you're hosting as a business.

  4. Add the US bank account you want to be paid into. Double-check the details before you submit.

  5. Keep a government-issued photo ID handy in case Stripe asks to verify your identity.

If you stop partway through, come back to the Payouts tab. Stripe's steps open again where you left off. If you see Continue connecting to Stripe instead, tap it.

To check your status, open your listing from Me > Add/Edit Listings. The Payouts & Wallet card shows Payouts enabled when you're set up. If it says Payouts not yet enabled, go back to your Wallet and finish the steps Stripe still needs.

Your tax details

Stripe collects your tax details, such as your Social Security number or EIN, while you set up payouts. Your payouts may be held until Stripe has verified them.

What you earn

Bookings at US kitchens are priced and paid in US dollars. Syzl's host fee is typically 16% of the kitchen cost, so you typically keep 84%. See The cost of using Syzl for hosts.

Your share of a booking moves to your Stripe balance when the food maker is charged.

When the money reaches your bank

New host accounts are on manual payouts, sent by Syzl staff. Once your share is in your Stripe balance, Syzl sends it to your bank. In your Wallet, Payouts to your Bank shows your balance and your payouts. Bank details and your account information are under Account Management. If you haven't received a payout within a week of the booking, email help@syzl.io.
