Cleaning After a Maker Booking

Every maker is responsible for leaving the kitchen the way they found it. To make sure there's time for that, Syzl builds cleaning time into every booking.

How cleaning time works

When a maker books, they choose their production hours. Syzl then adds cleaning time to the end of the booking:

The cleaning time is part of the booking, so the space stays reserved for the maker until it's done. That's why we suggest a minimum booking of 4 hours, which includes the 1 hour of cleaning.

When a maker's production hours end, the app reminds them that it's time to tidy up and finish.

Hosts: tell makers what you expect

If your kitchen has cleaning rules that go beyond industry standards, say so clearly. Put them in your listing description, and repeat them in a message before the booking starts. Makers can only follow rules they know about.

Makers: running short on time

If you need more time at the end of a booking, you may be able to extend it from the booking in the app. Extensions are only available when the host allows them and the kitchen is free afterwards. You confirm the charge for the extra time before it's added. See Add-ons and extending a booking.

What if the kitchen wasn't left clean?

Hosts: take photos of the space as soon as you can. Then email them to help@syzl.io with the booking details, or reach us through the support page in the app. Our team will review it with you and the maker. Where it's warranted, we can add a cleaning or damage fee to the maker's booking.

Makers: if the kitchen wasn't clean when you arrived, take photos before you start and send them to help@syzl.io. We'll follow up with the host.
